State Conference is the governing body of the Party in Western Australia and is made up of delegates from Sub-branches, affiliated unions and parliamentary representatives.
State Conference 2008 will determine the Party's new platform, which sets out the ALP’s commitments in Government. It also determines the rules of the Party and elects the Party Officers.
(i) Administrative Committee - All fourteen members of the Administrative Committee.
(ii) 150 Political Delegates
(iii) A minimum of 150 Union Delegates
(iv) Proxy Delegates - Delegates who can’t attend part or all of the State
Conference may credential another ALP Member as a proxy delegate.

State Conference 2008 will consist of a number of Sessions. Each Session comprises reports from Policy Committee Conveners, Ministers, Party Office Bearers and other invited speakers. During the sessions, delegates consider and debat each policy area. The combined policy areas constitute the new State Platform, which is binding on all Members of the Party.
The WA Branch endeavours to make State Conference a rewarding experience for all participants and a range of interesting events are organised for Party Members throughout the weekend. For instance, a series of informative seminars will be conducted exclusively for Party Members alongside State Conference. In addition, the highlight of the State Conference weekend is the Conference Dinner featuring a special guest.
The 2007 State Conference was held on 2 and 3 June 2007 at the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
There is a dedicated State Conference 2007 page on this website that only current Party Members can access. This page includes copies of the key speeches and parliamentary reports, a photograph gallery, video clips of important debates, and results of the elections.
